Mega Markets: Assurances on the website are half-silent and dubious
What must the astonished visitors to www.megamarkets.com receive? "The award-winning Mega Markets trading platform is a web-based, easy-to-use platform that is ready to go! Easily trade forex pairs like EUR USD, stocks like Tesla & Google, gold and a whole host of other instruments! If you need any help, our excellent customer service team is here to help!" That's just a small excerpt of the suspect assurances investors will find on Mega Markets' website. Not one of these lofty promises from Mega Markets has been fulfilled. Unfortunately, the dubious business conduct rather makes for disappointed investors and bad reviews!
Mega Markets: Who is behind it?
Almost all investors will certainly find it difficult to answer this question, as the Mega Markets makers do everything they can to conceal the true circumstances. This is undoubtedly not unusual, as the scammers often operate a number of such websites with the same fraudulent business model. These are stockpiled, uploaded to the internet one after the other and just as swiftly taken down, plus the top-level domain is repeatedly changed to evade financial regulators and law enforcement agencies. However, the UK FCA published a warning about Mega Markets on 21.02.2023.
But who is the operator of Mega Markets?
The website megamarkets.com does not provide any usable information on this. Of course, the company Mega Markets (without legal form) is listed with the address One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5AB, but the makers of Mega Markets cannot be found at this address, as it is only a bogus address, just like the previously used address City Point Building, 1 Ropemaker Street, London, UNITED KINGDOM, EC2Y 9HT. In addition, the email address support@megamarkets.com and the UK telephone number +447354010811 can also be found on megamarkets.com. The domain megamarkets.com was registered with NameCheap, Inc. as early as 22.09.2004, but there was a recent update on 12.03.2023, which indicates a change of ownership.
Mega Markets: Scheme of the investment fraud
The investment fraud constantly plays out according to the same pattern: investors enter with a small sum - usually 250 euros - and quickly experience how this amount multiplies, so that they are prepared to invest ever higher sums. The arguments start as soon as investors want their money paid out, because now taxes, commissions, fees or anything else supposedly have to be paid first. Unfortunately, many investors are too slow to realise that they have fallen for investment scams that never intended to pay out the money again.
Mega Markets: What help is there for investment fraud?
Many desperate investors ask themselves what to do in the case of investment fraud, since criminal charges make little sense because criminal charges are primarily for prosecution and not for recovering money. What kind of help can one hope for in the case of investment fraud and how can affected investors get their money back? A lawyer specialising in investment fraud knows how to trace the money, because as they used to say, money is not gone, but unfortunately somewhere else. Nowadays, this can be added to: It is exhausting, but with the right tools it is possible to track money digitally on a regular basis - even if it was deposited with Bitcoin via a Crypto Exchanger.
